Supporting The Red Romo Scholarship Fund For Student Trainers At the United States Naval Academy

A special dinner with a guest speaker will be held on October 18th, 2008 (Sunday) at Harry Browne’s Restaurant in Annapolis, MD
For those who knew Red, this Scholarship Fund is a way to recognize the impact he had on student-athletes, athletic trainers, friends at the Naval Academy and across the U.S.A.

Over four decades of Navy athletes were tended to by the personable Romo, whose wit and keen sense of humor often defused the training room prior to practice. During his 41 years at Navy, he worked primarily with football, basketball and baseball and spent time with lacrosse and crew. He supervised all four of Navy’s Athletic training rooms and the training staff for 30 intercollegiate sports at the academy.
Scores of Navy football players remember the pre-game meal Red would have prepared for them, because it included an item referred to as “Romo Toast”. He believed the toast should be served really hard, like a rock. There are legions of former Naval Academy athletes who can recall stories about Red Romo. The trouble is ... most of them are true.

A limited seating dinner with Guest Speaker will be held at Harry Browne’s on Sunday October 18th, 2008, starting at 6:30 Open Bar and Hors d’oeuvres, 4 Course Dinner
